Don't procrastinate – Vaccinate!

Monday, December 19, 2011

December is not too late to protect yourself against the flu with a flu shot.  The rule of thumb to follow is as long as flu viruses are spreading and causing illness, vaccination can provide protection.  According to the latest flu activity report by the Centers for Disease Control (www.CDC.gov ), influenza levels are currently low across the country.   What you may not realize is that flu activity usually peaks in January and February (in the United States) and can last as late as May.  The good news in all this?  There’s still plenty of time to get a flu shot if you haven't already!

Stay healthy – enjoy the winter – and protect yourself against influenza.  Ask for a flu shot the next time you are at VA!
