Internship Program

The doctoral psychology internship at the Lexington VA Health Care System in Kentucky is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. 

The Lexington VA Health Care System – consists of two divisions. The Franklin Sousley Campus houses the Mental Health Clinic, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinical Team (PCT), Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP), Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, and Community Living Center. Primary Care and several specialty clinics are also located at the Sousley Division. The Bowling Campus,  provides general medical, surgical, neurological, and acute inpatient psychiatric services.

Thirty-five psychologists are involved in providing interns with generalist training. Therapy and assessment didactics are offered on a weekly basis to provide continuous training on a variety of different topics. The program funds five interns on a full-time basis.
