Onboarding Process for New Employees

The items enumerated below outline the steps you will need to successfully complete in order to receive a firm offer of employment.  Current VA employees must complete this paperwork and bring 2 forms of ID listed on the I-9.

1. Pre-Employment Paperwork
As part of the pre-employment process, you will need to complete the below requirements, so that we can move towards making a firm offer. Please be advised that firm offers are not given until all pre-employment processes have been completed, assessed and cleared.

2. Pre-Employment Physical Requirements
If the position you have been tentatively selected for requires completion of a pre-employment physical examination as a condition of employment, you will be provided information your tentative offer letter to call to schedule your pre-employment physical examination.  A firm offer of employment is contingent upon receiving medical clearance from Occupational Health.

3. Pre-Employment Fingerprint Requirements
As a condition of federal employment, you must be fingerprinted and complete a background investigation. Fingerprinting is done on a walk-in basis; located in Building 2, 1st Floor, Room 108. Walk-in hours are Tuesdays 1:00pm – 3:00pm, and Thursdays 8:00 – 11:00am.  You must bring two forms of identification, drivers’ license and one other form of ID such as, birth certificate, social security card, current passport or military ID.  Keep these IDs handy as you will be required to bring them again to your New Employee Orientation.  A firm offer of employment is contingent upon receiving a favorable fingerprint clearance.

4. Required Forms to Complete
Please complete and bring these forms with you to New Employee Orientation (date will be scheduled once you have cleared all pre-employment processes and receive a firm offer).  Below you will find links to checklists for designated positions. Please review the column entitled “Occupation” and identify the position you have been tentatively selected to fill. Access the required forms by selecting the corresponding link in the checklist column. Each form comprises your pre-employment application package. The checklist will assist you with keeping track of your progress in completing all required forms.
