The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in accordance with 38 U.S.C. Sec 8161, et seq., provides notice of a public hearing to present VA’s proposal and receive views on an Enhanced-Use Lease Project (EUL) to renovate and reutilize four buildings and six acres of land adjacent to these buildings on Lexington VA Medical Center - Leestown Division campus for supportive housing for Veterans on a priority placement basis.

IDENTIFICATION OF PROPERTY TO BE LEASED:   The location for this housing project is on existing VA property at Lexington VA Medical Center - Leestown Division. The targeted EUL site consists of approximately six acres of land and includes four vacant buildings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED USE OF THE PROPERTY:   The proposed use for the VA property will be to renovate four buildings and develop six acres of land adjacent to these buildings to provide supportive housing for Veterans on a priority placement basis.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED LEASE: Using VA’s Enhanced-Use Leasing authority, VA plans to lease the site to a selected lessee for a term of up-to-75 years.  The Enhanced-Use lessee will be required to finance, design, develop, construct, equip, furnish, operate and maintain the supportive housing for Veterans at no cost to VA, and in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local requirements.  The underlying leasehold interest in all related improvements will revert to VA at the end of the lease.
